In the beginning when he sucks at surfing and Alex makes fun of him, he drops in with his twin fin but at the end of the wave he has the longboard chandler teaches him on.

At one point, during Rick's heat, he takes off on a left reg. foot, the camera angle changes and he's doing a bottom turn guffy foot.

Rick's adventure is scheduled to take place at the North Shore during the summer before his art classes starts.

However, by the second day of his trip, he meets Turtle and follows him to a Halloween Party (after his stuff gets ripped off in the beginning of the movie while he walking around town you can also see signs that say happy halloween and women screaming happy halloween). Cleary it was Halloween and therefore not the summer anymore. By the time his trip is over, it's practically late fall/early winter...what gives?

However, Randall wrote in to clear that one up:

The surfing season in Hawaii doesn't start in the summertime. Late October is actually accurate. So the Halloween scene fits just fine. And how does anybody know it was the beginning of summer when Rick won that contest in Arizona? Nobody ever said what time of year it was. It could have been mid-September for all anybody knows.

When Turtle is driving Rick back to Chandler's, the scenery behind Turtle repeats itself a few times. You see the same parked pickup truck and trees pass by at least twice.

In the scene where Rick is getting seen off at the airport pay close attention to Turtle's hair. His hair style changes several times during that scene.

When Rick is going through training with Chandler the surfboard that Rick uses keeps changing when he is surfing.

I can't help but find it funny that Rick says to Occy and Rogers "isn't that Hans Hedemann out there?".

And from the distance they are away from Hans there is no way they could see clearly who the surfer actually is!

When Chandler takes Rick to his home, you can see surfboards on the deck of the truck. When the car stops, the surfboards are gone.

Bogus Blunders

Sometimes an apparent goof is not a real mistake
