I recently saw the TV movie "Since You've been gone" (1998) for the very first time. This was an 10-year '80's high school reunion film, along the lines of "Grosse Pointe Blank" and "Romy & Michele's High School Reunion", but with a much smaller budget....but still extremely funny!
I was surprised at how many big names were in the film, including: Lara Flynn Boyle as a malicious & somewhat unhinged woman, and David Schwimmer as the former class president who still kept getting booed off the stage. Molly Ringwald & Jon Stewart even made amusing cameo appearances.
The film made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions, especially: the mean-spirited "tricks" that the LFB played on numerous former class-mates; the "I'm an Idiot" signs that were put on the back of the David Schwimmer character; and the "revenge" a couple of the characters got on him towards the end of the film - LOL.
It had a decent soundtrack as well, though most of the '80's songs were sung by a fairly poor cover band at the reunion...however, the sub-par renditions of popular songs by Duran Duran, Pat Benatar, Dexys Midnight Runners, Simple Minds, etc. were actually very funny
It was also somewhat nostalgic - since, even though I've never been to a high school reunion...I did still graduate in the late '80's.
