Watched Return to the Blue Lagoon yesterday. It was directed by William A. Graham and starring Milla Jovovich, Brian Krause and Lisa Pelikan.
It was a decent sequel, the same old story but slightly different. Of course it didn´t have the same magical 80s atmosphere as the 1980 version and Jovovich/Krause didn´t have the same chemistry Shields/Atkins had.
On the positive side, Milla (then 16) looks stunning and they had re-created the original settings quite well.
While The Blue Lagoon was a box-office success (budget 4,5 mil./gross 58,8 mil.), this one seems to have bombed badly (budget 11 mil./gross 2,8 mil.)

Geesh, they didnt even TRY to make his hair look shipwrecked and disheveled, did they? He looks like he just walked outta VIDAL SASSOON!
No Ive never seen this one. I think a lot of people knew it was gonna be a retread of teh first one and sometimes people find that insulting that you try to make them watch 'the same' movie twice!
And I think since the original BLUE LAGOON, which was quite scandalous in its day, came out a LOT of other stuff has come out thats shattered all the once-were-movie-taboos....so the idea of two teenagers making love in the sand wasnt that shocking anymore.

I liked this. Then again, as has already been said; it's almost the same as the first film.
