I think this was a made for TV movie starring Cynthia Gibb as Karen Carpenter, and Louise Fletcher as their mother.
I've always loved this movie, just like I've always loved the Carpenter's music.
It's definately a tear jerker, knowing Karen's ultimate fate.
I loved how the music was matched to events in their lives, specifically how during Karen's wedding the song "Masquerade" played on the soundtrack.

I remember seeing this movie. It was very good. It was sad about her life. She was so talented.

i watched this several times throughout the years. they have shown in lifetime, i believe.
karen carpenter..what a voice.
i've seen interviews with her on youtube where it was apparent she had issues with her weight. check them out, she gets pretty defensive while speaking.

CindyMancini met Cynthia Gibb last year- I missed meeting her- because I was with my other friend in a different room with Mick Foley. But, I didn't know she did a movie about Karen Carpenter. I always loved The Carpenters- her voice was so unique and they did such classy songs.
