As far as vampire movies go, this series is a very good one IMO. Though part 4 was a bit dull for my liking, but still worth a viewing. I loved the way actor Anders Hove portrayed the character of Radu Vladislas. I would almost dare to say the Radu character ranks right up there with the old silent Nosferatu character. Another great thing about these films are the settings and the locations that they were filmed in. Mainly filmed in Romania, they used some of the best scenic locations Romania had to offer. Also great use of Castle locations as well. Overall, Subspecies is a great vampire series that I would recommend for any fan of the classic horror vampire style.

I only saw the first one and didnt like it....but I sometimes feel like renting them all to see if Im missing out on anything.
Wasnt one of the vampires named "Radu"? I seem to remember my best friend trying to freak me out by saying "Radu is coming for you!"

Oh man I loved the Subspecies movies. I've contemplated buying them to have. I remember the guy who was the vampire played on General Hospital--Anders Hove.

Watched Subspecies (1991) and it was a decent vampire film. Irina Movila, Laura Mae Tate and Michelle McBride are good looking college girls but Anders Hove steals the show hands down. Like Pyro said, he looks very much like Nosferatu. I also liked the little gargoyles, funny creatures
Overall a solid low budget Full Moon feature.
