Watched it last night with my husband. Excellent performances from most of the actors, although I could have done without Dustin Hoffman. He always acts the same in every movie, no matter what the character. And why didn't they do something with Brad Pitt's disgusting skin instead of filming him only on the left side of his face for the majority of the film. Deniro was great- he didn't do any over the top type of acting for his role, which made it believable to me. Does anyone else think that the Oscars totally blew this movie off?

I absolutely love this film. First off, what a cast. Kevin Bacon played the bad guy so well....you can't help but hate him in this movie. Hoffman's not one of my favs either. He is a good actor, but does seem the same in alot of roles. Tom Cruise is similar in that regard. Of course Deniro was his usual brilliant self and everyone else from Patric, Crudup, and Eldard were good too. Not a fan of Minnie Driver much though. Not that she's a bad actress, just doesn't do it for me. As far as Oscars....I think it was worthy of some nods. The best scene for me is when John and Tommy go into that restaurant and see Nokes in there stuffing his face. The look on his face when they approached him, and finally gave him what he deserved. Great flick for me!

Thanks for the pics 80'sRocked. I thought all of the other actors were great, even the kids. And one of the guards was Jeffrey Donovan, who is the star of one of my favorite newer shows, Burn Notice. It was weird seeing all of those actors who are all big stars now. Oh, and Jonathan Tucker was so cute and still looks the same. Loved him in The Black Donnellys- I was so disappointed when they cancelled it. I bought this movie last week, so it will definitely get re-watched many times by me, event though the subject matter makes my stomach churn.

Sadly I think it has since closed. Bought up by a condo developer- what else? It seems as though every small mom-and-pop joint is closing up in NYC and being bought out by condo developers. There won't be any decent places to eat anymore either, unless you want to spend $300 a meal.

I also enjoyed the film and subsequently read the book, which I LOVED.

Great performances by DeNiro, Pitt, Ron Eldard, Billy Crudup, and Bacon. I also enjoyed a young Brad Renfro in this film...what a shame and waste of talent his death was.

Although I really enjoyed the film, something about it left me a little disatisfied...perhaps it had something to do with the length. I'll have to give it another viewing soon.
