This b-movie from "Waxwork" and "Waxwork II" writer and director Anthony Hickox is a collaboration of Rewind forces in my opinion.
On one side you have Ali_with_an_i, Lupa, and Devo's Bruce Campbell combining with NowhereGirl, Muffy, Isis, and Valley's Deborah Foreman. I know Ali_with_I (ha) have already reserved our copy....I must warn though, this movie is not for everyone, but if you are a huge Campbell or Foreman fan it might just be a thirst you need to quench.
"Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat" is basically a lost b-movie classic starring David Carradine, Bruce Campbell, and Deborah Foreman. It is being released for the first time ever as a special edition DVD on September 23, 2008.
"Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat Special Edition" contains exciting bonus features including brand new interviews with Bruce Campbell and David Carradine, commentary with director Anthony Hickox and director of photography Levie Isaacks and a "Making of" featurette.
Plot:
Count Mardulak, the leader of a group of vampires, has ended their tradition of human bloodletting and placed his followers on a diet of synthetic, bottled blood in an attempt to put aside their monsterous nature and peacefully co-exist with humans. However, when the Harrisons, a human family, move into the town, the vamps start to crave "the real thing." Soon, the Harrisons find themselves in the thick of an escalating rivalry between two vampire factions: one led by peaceful Count Mardulak and the other old-school bloodsuckers who consider Mardulak and his clan traitors to their predatory heritage.
The battle for the "right to bite" begins at Sundown.

I watched this movie Halloween night and thought is was quirky cool. Bruce Campbell was hilarious, but under used in my opinion. Deborah Foreman gave an excellent performance and I recommend it for her fans. Oh I even noticed Gerardo 'Rico Suave' Mejía from "Can't Buy Me Love" was in it as well.

Ok....I just watched this last night and here's my take.
After the first 10 minutes, I was about to shut it off, but I kept on with it. The next 20 minutes or so was pretty brutal as well. I really had to force myself to keep going. Some of that dry type of humor was terrible I thought....just not my style of humor.
Once Carradine, Campbell, anf Foreman entered the movie, it did get a little better....at least it was watchable. Campbell had his good moments as well as Carradine, but I was always a fan of his. The best part of the whole movie was how good Deborah looked....wow. Anyway, it's still cool to see a movie from the 80's or 90's that I never saw before. This movie is definitely an acquired taste.
