For some reason there isn't a single movie from Michael Haneke that i like.
It always seems like he's masquerading exploitation as arthouse. Posts: 2211 | From: The Netherlands | Registered: Jun 2011 | Site Updates: 0

I liked Funny Games US, haven't seen the original. Don't think I've seen any other films of his.

I hate Haneke's stuff. He is a pretentious poseur.

Sure. Haneke's stuff has everything that makes art cinema bad. It is smug, self-satisfied with its own importance as ART, and boring. He is way overrated as a critics' darling.

To a certain degree i do agree with Crash on this topic.
Haneke's La Pianiste was an extremely boring depiction of a woman's urges to pursue an S&M relationship.
Radley Metzger's The Image (aka The Punishment of Anne) did it much, much better 25 years before La Pianiste was produced.

The only Haneke movie i´ve seen is the original Funny Games (1997) and i didn´t like it at all so i´m also gonna agree with camp Crash here.

Nice to see another Radley Metzger a/k/a Henry Paris fan, JRir. His films are all interesting. The Image is my favorite, followed by The Lickerish Quartet. Back in the 80s when I was in school in Philadelphia, I had this weird little over-the-air pay channel called ON TV. They ran every Metzger Audubon film late nights. I got a real education about the classy adult film, something no one does anymore.

"Kevin Laird is a Beverly Hills school teacher by day and a mystery man by night. Using his lambada dance moves to first earn the kid's respect and acceptance, Kevin then teaches them academics. But when a jealous student exposes Kevin's double life, his two worlds collide, threatening his job and reputation." (IMDb)
Lambada is a decent Cannon International dance film directed by Joel Silberg (Breakin' etc.) The movie stars J. Eddie Peck (Dangerously Close), very pretty Melora Hardin (Iron Eagle), Adolfo Quinones (Ozone from the Breakin' films) and funny Ricky Paull Goldin.
Obviously this movie didn´t have a very big budget, the "No Man´s Land" dance club is kinda small but it includes a cool police car hanging from the ceiling! The choreographies are pretty lame but the soundtrack is alright with some familiar names like Brenda K. Starr, Tony Terry and Sweet Obsession.
Feel a big 80s hangover and see super silly classroom dance sequence and Stonewood High vs. Galaxy High Super Quiz!

The Alien Within / Unknown Origin (1995) 3.5/5
Good low budget Leviathan rip-off. A creature from a Russian underwater site is brought into the American site. We don't know who is infected. The actors are likable and it actually holds tension.

This was a nice little thriller directed by Steven Soderbergh. Starring Peter Gallagher, Alison Elliott, William Fichtner, Adam Trese, Paul Dooley, Anjanette Comer, Joe Don Baker and Elisabeth Shue.
This is a remake of the original 1949 film adaptation. Interesting plot (three timezones), good acting and i also liked the ending.
Simply the Best of all the Terminator series! Great Cast and I simply loved how great the scenes was between Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong & Robert Patrick It was better then the first one!
