It stars Robert Duvall and James Earl Jones. It's about a white guy from Arkansas (Duvall) who after his mother dies, finds out that his real mother is black. So, he goes to Chicago to look up his mothers family, and, his older brother (Jones).
I'll give it a 7/10...

I saw Devil's Advocate in the cinema as well and watched it on DVD yesterday. It had a decent twist. It's one of my fave 90's movies. What did you think of it?

You may remember it furthermore features a cameo by Chris Cornell as a man who comes outside to listen to the song on that stereo, which is Jinx by Tad from their album 8-Way Santa. And their frontman Tad Doyle has a cameo, too, in which he embarrasses Bridget Fonda when she talks flirtatiously on the telephone to what she assumes is Matt Dillon!

Boondock Saints for me too....
My brother gave me a copy of this a while ago and I hadn't gotten around to watch it. After I heard the hype here, I had to pop it in last night. It was a very odd movie, but entertaining. It did however take me a while to get into to, but it picked up nicely after about 1/2 hour. David Della Rocco's character as "Funny Man", was the best part of this entire movie. He stole the show for me and cracked me up with some of his quotes..... wish I could post more of them, but they're pretty bad.

I did not know that was Tad Doyle. I loved all the cameos- the Pearl Jam guys, Chris Cornell, the Alice in Chains performance. I wish I could have been in that movie!

For some inexplicable reason, one of my favourite movies from the 90's! Fun road movie, directed by Dennis Hopper. Tom Berenger is great as the gruff Navy officer, Erika Eleniak shows her wonderful "talents" once again, like she did in UNDER SIEGE And Gary Busey has a funny but memorable cameo, with some hilarious lines. A lot of fun characters (amongst others, Hopper himself, as a perveted dress salesman) and some great South Carolina locations (a place rarely seen in movies).
Check it out....

Although I like the movie, it's not one of my favorites. Nobody understands why I don't love it as much as most, especially since I'm a big Robert DeNiro fanatic, and I also quite like Al Pacino.
I do enjoy DeNiro's role a lot, and the shootout scene after the bank robbery is great. Somehow, Pacino's performance seems so over-the-top, and I don't care for the trilogy of romantic sideplots involving DeNiro, Pacino, and Val Kilmer's characters.
The supporting cast is talented - Jon Voight, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Natalie Portman, Dennis Haysbert, William Fitcher, Amy Brenneman, Ashley Judd, and Hank Azaria. Additionally, I've enjoyed a lot of Michael Mann's directorial work, such as The Insider, Manhunter, and Collateral, but this one is a bit of a letdown to me.
I'd rather watch Copland, Goodfellas, Casino, The Insider, Mean Streets, or even The Score instead.

The shootout scene in Heat is one of the best ever I think. Copland never gets enough credit and The Score is a guilty pleasure of mine. Most people I talk to don't think much of either.
I also like Sliver alot.

Great trio of movies Jay Lee. The place I bought from had Stone Cold priced higher than Beyond the Law which suprised me. I got Beyond the Law, Stone Cold, Judgment Night, and Wanted Dead or Alive for like $28.......

- This is a remake of a French classic Nikita (1990) Good, violent action flick with great actors. Bridget Fonda, Gabriel Byrne, Dermot Mulroney etc. Harvey Keitel is great in a small role as Victor the Cleaner. Good score by one of my favorites Hans Zimmer.

Notting Hill (1999). Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts correspondingly portray a down-on-his-luck travel bookshop owner and a world-famous actor who meet and fall in love when she walks into his bookshop. They could end up together -- if the gossip-hungry press to say nothing of her actor boyfriend don't get in the way.

Jurassic Park... I love Spielberg (for the most part) But the two kids, and my dislike for Sam Neill and Laura Dern kinda killed this movie for me! When I was younger, I couldn't put my finger on what it was, now I know!
It's not a bad movie, and Goldblum is god in my book! The cgi is still pretty impressive to this day, and it has a lot of good scenes.
If they had replaced the two leads, and axed the kids, I would enjoy this movie a lot more!

Oh, and SINGLES... I was never into grunge or that Seattle sound or look! And to be honest, I hated those flannel wearing, coffee drinking, poetry reading, chin pubes sporting, hipster types, with their oh so alternative views and opinions. Yes, we had them here too!
I recognize Cameron Crowes talent, but this movie was lost on me in '93, and lost on me now!

Bad writing, bad dialogue, bad acting...... why was this movie made???
Skeet Ulrich and Cuba Gooding have no chemistry, and not much to work with here!
On a side note.... Skeet, Cuba... what happened???
Skeet was prepped to be the new Brad Pitt or something, then he just dissapeared! I last saw him on that show Jericho, which was also cancelled, if I remenber correctly! Poor little Skeet!
And Cuba.... I never thought that he was that good of an actor, certainly not Oscar worthy, but he took the statue for Jerry Maguire, none the less! And then it was all down hill from there... Rat Race... Snow Dogs... Boat Trip... DADDY ****ING DAY CAMP!!!! Wouldn't hold my breath for another Oscar there, Cuba...!
