Did anyone see this HBO films movie? It starred Thomas Jane and Barry Pepper as Mickey Mantle & Roger Marris playing for the Yankees in the 1961 baseball season. It is about their rivalry in trying to break the record for home runs in a season set by Babe Ruth. It was directed by Billy Crystal. I thought it was very well done and It made me really feel sorry for Roger Marris and the way that he was treated. It shows you how powerful the press can be in shaping public opinion about someone. It's a great film about the human spirit as well as baseball. But you don't have to be a baseball fan to enjoy this movie. It hits home in more than one way.

I love baseball so I really liked this film. It was good to see someone finally tell Marris's story.

Barry Pepper played my favorite character in "Saving Private Ryan", so when 61* came out on HBO, I made sure I watch it. Very good sports movie which seems to be one of the toughest things to get right on film.

The main reason that I wanted to see this movie was because I love Barry Pepper. He is such a great actor who needs to be used more. He is so versatile and hot!! There is just something about him that stands out on screen and is so powerful.
