Uggggh.... I agree. I loved BHC. Heck I even loved BHC2! But part 3 was mind numbingly bad! The only thing that made me laugh was the reapppearance of Serge. (Bronson Pinchot) And even that wasn't enough to save it.
It's such a shame that these films could well be the undying memory of Eddie Murphy.

Not those. It's when he decided to tone himself down after Beverly Hills Cop 3 (which did have its share of occasional good moments; I for one enjoyed the all-purpose gun he ends up wielding) that he jumped off the cliff.

Teen Wolf Too Karate Kid 4 Short Circuit 2 Revenge of the Nerds 3 & 4 Home Alone 4 Dream a Little Dream 2 Dumb & Dumber 2 Son of the Mask Christmas Vacation 2 (yes, this exists) Big Top Pee-wee (maybe not a sequel, per se, but a damn terrible follow-up to Pee-wee's Big Adventure)

Is You Got Mail a sequel to Sleepless in Seattle. Can't tell the two apart except for the email and phone conversations.

... or the plot or the location or the characters names or jobs or personalities..... ?
Just because it's Hanks and Ryan makes it a sequel? Maybe I never knew that St Elmo's Fire was a sequel to The Breakfast Club... oh-wait - they only had some of the same actors in it.
Answer - in maybe an overly ironic and possibly sarcastic style, for which I apologise - No, it's not a sequel.

Hmm, I'll try to throw out a few that have not been mentioned:
Parent Trap 2,3,4 (middle-aged Hayley Mills) Death Wish 5 (however pt. 3 is one of the greatest action movies ever!) Star Wars Episodes I and II Star Trek: Insurrection Brady Bunch in the White House

I liked Insurrection. I thought it played like a big-screen TNG Episode, which considering there were no more being made, was a nice thing to get.
Now Star Trek 5? There's a sequel that made you feel all nostalgic for Star Trek; The Motion Picture!

I'd forgotten that there was more than one Parent Trap (not counting the remake). I guess they were that bad??

Probably more of a 'that worked well and we need a commercial success - let's cast them both again' marketing ploy. Same with Gere and Roberts in The Rubnaway Bride. Pretty Woman is wasn't.
