This is one of those middle of the road films I'll watch if nothing better happens to be available. If you like to trace all those six degrees of seperation to Kevin Bacon, this would probably be a good "challenge" choice, as practically no one else who was in this film with him has done much of note. The story of Bacon trying to recruit for college an African tribesman may not seem all that politcally correct to some, and the story often can't decide with it wants to be serious or silly, causing very light and very dark moments to butt up against each other. When it does hold firm, though, it can be entertaining. I always like when Bacon first shows up in Africa looking for the village in question, makes a fool of himself trying to speak Swahili to the travel guide who we find can speak perfect English, and then discovers he's missed the last bus to town...by about 20 years.
What did you think of it?

I was never able to sit through this film. Not quite sure why but it just never had any appeal to me.
