I saw this movie once and thought it wasn't bad. I'm glad it's finally getting a dvd release in March 06. Samantha Mathis, who I wish did more because I really liked her in Pump Up The Volume and How To Make An American Quilt, gave a good performance. Great cast between her, River Phoenix, Dermot Mulroney and Sandra Bulllock. Just thought I'd let you all know .

My friend Juliet recommended this movie to me. Do you all think it's worth checking out?

Veronica.. I'll try to write more later, but if you like River Phoenix this movie is for you. Samanthis Mathis is great in it too.

Hmmm, interesting to see this thread resurface 6 years later...I think my enthusiasm for this back in 2005 is a little misleading...the film is really not that good & River is pretty altered throughout his performance but there are a few redeemable moments here and there. Like Valley said, if you're a fan, check it out.
The one thing I wish they did differently was the soundtrack. The didn't use Sam & River's voices on it. That's too bad cause there's one song, "Until Now," that River sings in the movie and I thought he sounded great. I would love to have the full studio version of it...oh well .
