I saw the trailer for this movie and it looks way cool. I can't wait to see it. This is one movie made from a comic book character which I know absolutely nothing about. Does anyone know the dilly with this character? From what I gather he's a cross between the Punisher and Darkman. I know Natalie Portman co-starrs in it and it from the brothers who directed the Matrix trilogy.

From the mind of Alan Moore (‘From Hell’, ‘Watchman’ League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen’), ‘V For Vendetta’ is about a masked freedom fighter (played by Hugo Weaving) and his novice charge (Natalie Portman) waging a guerrilla war against the fascist government in a totalitarian society not dissimilar to the one we have today. I saw the trailer too and it looks awesome; Moore wrote this as a series in the 1980s; published in a comics magazine that went out of business before the story was over, a few years later, it was completed and collected for the novel which became an instant cult classic. Its always strange to see these kind of stories set in London, with familiar sites and colloquialisms; and it’ll be interesting to see how they work with that in the film.
Apparently, Alan Moore has nothing to do with any of the adaptations of his work; as they tend to take massive liberties with the source material (‘LXG’ being a prime example). Still, this looks like it’ll be a good movie and defiantly worth seeing.

Dude, this sucks...the movie has been pushed back until next March!!!! Rumors are saying that it is because of the subway bombings in London. The movie takes place in a futuristic London and apparently there is a scene of the Vigilante on the subway doing a lot of killing. I've heard other rumors saying that the movie is in trouble and the studio thinks it sucks so they want time to re-edit it and then release it at a time when there aren't any other major films coming out to compete with.

That sounds like its gonna suck when the studio talks about re-editing it. Let's hope not...

Joel Silver must be sweating the change here, after all, would JSP have the nerve to release this uncut, and risk an NC-17 box office? I doubt it (an edited version would be like trying to make ‘A Clockwork Orange’ more user friendly), but then again, Alan Moore’s succinct, and less than promising, review of the Wachowski’s script (calling it “imbecilic”) doesn’t exactly bode well for the movie either.
I still think this will get its Nov 5th release and Joel, savvy producer that he is, will milk the controversy for all its worth, and may even bite the bullet with an uncut, hyped up release hoping for some 'Passion Of The Christ’-esque takings.
