Kind of a comeback film for Julia Roberts who laid off of films after she married Lyle Lovett. This really started her career again a romantic lead. It starred Cameron Diaz, Dermot Mulroney, and Rupert Everett! Very funny movie about a couple of friends who actually are better off to remain friends. I like the ending of this because it shows that you don't always get what you want out of life. I don't like that part but it is reality. If you haven't had the chance you should definately check this one out, it is one of Julia Roberts best since Pretty Woman.
Let us know what you think or thought of it?

I loved Pretty Woman, but I have grown to dislike Roberts. The movie itself was alright, but Cameron Diaz was super annoying! I would reccomend it though because it was entertaining.

I have this, and like it a lot. Roberts is likeable, Diaz annoying, but be fair - the star of the show is Rupert Everett. His monologue leading up to "The moment I wake up, before I put on my make-up...." is superb.

I quite liked this movie but I did think it tried a little bit too hard to mesh British humour with American box office. Does anyone else feel that way? I agree that Rupert is DIVINE in this movie and has always been an unattainable man I shall love from afar. I find that scene when they're going under the bridge in the ferry very well done. It was Jules' one moment to come clean about loving Michael but they both just let it pass and then they were on the other side and the sun was shining. It was like that moment had never happened at all. I thought it was very poignant. It's also a great movie for any of us females out here (me included) who have been in love with your best, male friend and just had to wish him well.

Rupert was great, it was the rest of the cast that made this movie sorta poopy. I mean Julia Roberts is the same character in EVERY movie she has ever been in. The woman has no range! She's just lucky because she picks films with good scripts ,strong plots and better actors than her. Cameron Diaz is blah.... I can't stand that ditz!
