ever had a pizza that had the perfect toppings? ever had a mind-blowing orgasm? or just a unique experience that only YOU could appreciate? well, that for me is Robert Rodriguez & Quentin Tarantino's team-up FROM DUSK TILL DAWN. man, I love this film! I remember watching this in early 1996 when I was having a real bad time (made redundant etc.) and it was FANTASTIC! it was a special "£1 all cinemas, all movies" thing going on here in the UK and I went to see it with some friends -they just didn't get it! the way the film 'switches' halfway through, the references to EVIL DEAD II, THE THING and Rodriguez's own DESPERADO; I was laughing my *** off all the way through. George Clooney was supercool as Seth Gecko and the cameos by Fred Williamson and FX legend Tom Savini as 'Sex Machine' - Brilliant! the movie had balls! and I can't wait for SIN CITY - Robert Rodriguez is one of my favourite all-time directors (and although people may begin to think that I am telling porkie-pies, he is another famous director I am lucky enough to have met - he signed my FDTD soundtrack CD and we chatted about Spaghetti westerns) I never saw the sequels and have no intention to as they were just 'cash-in' video follow-ups, a bit like THE CROW sequels. "EVERBODY BE COOL. YOU, BE COOL..."

I'm with you all the way on this movie brother. I saw this when it first came out and have loved it ever since. It always reminded me of the old 80s horror movies. ...and Salma Hayek.....whoaa! [Smile]

oh hell yeah Salma Hayek! THAT dance! and that awesome TITO & TARANTULA song, 'After Dark'. I see that in SIN CITY, Jessica Alba does the honours in terms of the exotic dance...

This was a rather good flick. I love how it started out as a kidnapping type of flick and then totally turned into a horror flick. That was a good combination that isn't easily pulled off. In fact I cannot think of a time that something has been so effective as this movie was.

I remember watching it with a group of friends and I was the only one who knew it was a Vampire movie. When the movie changed direction so dramatically they were all like WTF?

Thing is, even if it hadn't gone the Vampire way and remained a gangster movie, it would have still ruled...

While this site was down, i watched all three From Dusk Till Dawn flicks.
From Dusk till Dawn (1996), From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999)
and From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter (1999).
The original was a rewatch, others i saw first time.

I liked all three of them.
The original rocks and everyone knows it but i was surprised how fun flicks the other two were.

Texas Blood Money was a cool vampire/crime film directed by Scott Spiegel (Intruder)
starring Robert Patrick, Bo Hopkins, Duane Whitaker, Danny Trejo and Raymond Cruz.

The Hangman's Daughter is a wicked vampire/western directed by P.J. Pesce
and starring Marco Leonardi, Michael Parks, Temuera Morrison, Rebecca Gayheart and Sonia Braga.

Nice low-budget entertainment!
