I was wondering if we could start a 2000 and up board on movies, music, pop culture, and new events. There are some good movies that I would like to discuss but really don't have a place to put them

If I discuss 2k movies, I post them on the 90's Rewind. It might be a somewhat decent alternative.

Yeah I guess so I just don't want anyone to get mad and say "hey this is the 90s board" I will give that a try.

Yeah Jess, there isn't much ever happening on the 90's board anyway, so it isn't like there are too many topics . So, I'd put them on here too, if I could think of one I wanted to talk about. Stick one on and see what happens.

You are absolutely right but it needs to get motivated and maybe one way to do that would be to introduce some recent stuff.

I know that this sounds really cynical but don't you think that so many of the movies post 2000 are just an exercise in PR or propaganda or a bit of a marketing exercise? I mean, I loved Shrek, thought that it was hilarious, but you have to admit they kind of went a bit overboard on their marketing. Now it just seems that movies are only made if the marketing department has a really clear strategy for them.

You are right. You do sound cynical...

I totally agree with you Kat27, welcome to the Rewind.
I just saw a few more movies that are coming out...one was Sahara- saw the preview...couldn't tell anything about what it was even about, except the dessert, and guns and explosions...
and I saw the preview with Wil Farrell for "Kicking and Screaming"- that looks totally stupid, and makes kids look as rotten as they have looked in every movie they have made just like this one.
