"Last of the Mohicans" was on last night...I love that movie though I know it's not totally true to the book, which is always a beef with me.
That notwithstanding, do I love this movie or what? Anyone else...anyone?
It's totally my favorite DDL performance though "Unbearable Lightness of Being" is also very provocative...he was so hot when he says "Take off your clothes."
Though he hasn't been very active onscreen other than "Gangs of New York" I thought it was cool that he showed up to one of the hospitals near Ground Zero to help out in the first few hours of 9/11...Steve Buscemi too.

Great actor "Gangs of New York" is a fav of mine,it is Horrible to say but the Character Bill the Butcher has many of the same Character Traits as myself

last of the mohicans is an excellent movie hispter. i even have some of the songs for that movie, it's good stuff. i have always been a madeline stowe fan and thought she was gorgeous in this movie. and daniel is a great actor, i agree. i haven't seen this one in such a long time, but maybe i'll yank it out of the closet and watch it.
i have only seen the beginning of gangs of new york. i know it was oscar worthy, gotta see that one too.

Daniel Day Lewis, fine actor, like ‘LOTM’ very much (waiting for the special edition DVD for that), though he was also brilliant in Irish films ‘The Boxer’ and ‘In The Name Of The Father’ (very understated, subtle performances in both).
NOTE TO SELF: Avoid Captain Rhodes if he has a knife
Bill’s opening speech in 'Gangs Of New York' before the battle against Priest Vallon, is both hilarious and menacing in its tone, a Catholic mate of mine always cracks up when he says, “May the Christian lord guide my hand against your Roman Popery!”. Bill, despite being a homicidal maniac, represents the last of a dying breed; someone who, in spite of being a vicious character, does, at times anyway, abide by the “ancient laws of combat” and believes in the principals of a fair fight.
He is easily my favourite character in the movie. I loved ‘Gangs Of New York’ but most people I know hated it for some reason, though Harvey Weinstein should not have cut a second from Scorcese’s final print (that’s the director of ‘Goodfellas’, ‘Mean Streets’ and ‘Casino’ you’re giving tips too Harv, what have you ever directed besides ‘For Keeps’?). Must mention Leo Dicaprio as well, he gets a lot of bad press but he’s actually a good actor.

Very good point KASH,this movie gets Slammed by alot of people to me it is a MASTERPIECE!!!!

[A Kash appearance is a rare & welcome thing]
There were historical inaccuracies in GONY that are always hard for students of history to overlook...didn't like the fluffy Cameron Diaz part either...but generally speaking the movie held my interest on many levels.
"In the Name of the Father" was very excellent indeed. It's hard to believe DDL was the fop in "A Room With a View"...who knew he'd be such a hottie and age so well?
As long as Scorcese's name has been brought up, "Goodfellas" is my favorite...I went to see it alone when it came out, I felt like I'd been in the theater for about 30 minutes because it moved so quickly and held me spellbound...I was so disappointed to come out alone and have no one to dish it with. That's probably my favorite thing about seeing movies: chatting it up afterward, don't you agree?
