The apartment with a mysterious past in a tenement house full of gloomy and sinister inhabitants is a background for the intriguing thriller Roman Polanski. Polanski impersonates Trelkovsky, a quiet and inconspicuous official, whose grey life is filled with fear and horror when he moves into a new apartment. Other tenants contribute to the growing paranoia, who will do nothing to help him overcome his obsession with the tragic fate of the previous tenant. Are Trelkovsky's fears really justified or are they simply the result of his probable nervous breakdown?
