I think the Shining is a good movie to watch in the winter. Jack Nicholson was excellent in this movie.

Hey, I watched it last night too on TV. I never get tired of watching it, a true horror masterpiece. Scenes that still make me jump after repeated viewings, a sure sign of everlasting greatness.

The Shining previews were so scary to me when I was a kid, I would have to leave the room, and cover my ears...because I couldn't stand the scenes where he was breaking the door down with the axe, and chasing Danny through the maze-I was terrified of it.
It was on recently...and I watched some of it, I came in to it in the scene in the bathroom, where Jack Nicholson is talking to the old caretaker...about him killing his family, and that guy says he thinks he would have remembered something like that, and he tells Jack Nicholson that he is the caretaker.. that he's always been the caretaker. That scene is creepy.
My friend has been past the Stanley Hotel-where it was filmed. But, she has never gone inside it. They give tours of it. This year, it is the hotel's 100th anniversary. It is awesome looking. It would be a place I would love to check out someday.

They investigated The Stanley Hotel on the show Ghosthunters. They caught alot of paranormal activity on tape from there. It was awesome.

Excellent movie. I just saw a bio on Nicholson on A&E. They said that they wrote the Shining with Jack playing the lead. He was the only one considered for the part.
