One of my favourite directors from the late 60s/70s, Peckinpah never pulled his punches and thus his movies retain a gritty relevance that make them classics of their generes.

I like Peck's work too. Straw Dogs was pretty intense. I liked the Getaway and the Wild Bunch a lot. Major Dundee with Charlton Heston was cool too.

'Straw Dogs' was very intense, not a film you can watch too often. I've not seen 'Major Dundee', did you see the extended cut (which is closer to what Peckinpah wanted) ?
