This has been driving me crazy for years- I would really appreciate if anyone can help me out with any additional details. I vaguely recall a television movie/show from mid to late 70's and can't remember the name or anything else about it. I may have some facts wrong but this is how I remember it (I was only 5-10 years old). A guy, I want to say it was the son from Land of the Lost, finds or is given some type of gadget from space. May have involved a necklace or a glove contraption. I believe when he wore whatever the gadget was, he had some kind of power, maybe like a laser gun or something. Don't know what the plot was but I seem to recall a lot of glowing green light and it seems he was dying each time he used it(radiation maybe). Oh boy, if someone has any ideas at all, or any more details, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I was going to say POWERS OF MATTHEW STAR too so that might be it. Funny enough I remember more about what Matthew Starr looked like (He was a honey!) than any facts about the show.

Thanks to you both for the suggestion, I appreciate the effort. Unfortunately though, that isn't it. I was thinking about it this morning in the shower. It definitely had to have been between '75 and '80(for various reasons). It was definitely not an episodic piece. My vague sense of it is this. The main character, lets call him Wes, sees or somehow comes into contact with an alien or alien ship that crashed(?). He finds or takes the gadget, either a necklace or sort of a glove type weapon that glows green or shoots a green laser or something. He utilizes the device for nefarious purposes and at the end the alien(s) come back to retrieve the device. I'm sure some of the details are wrong but that's essentially it. An obscure, silly premise to be sure but when your 8 or 9 years old, sneaking up late to watch scary movies, it has a certain fondness. Especially when I can't remember all the details. It's quite possible it was one of those Twilight Zone-esque shows they had in the late 70's because I remember another one with the same guy who discovers aliens(?) speaking to him through an old console tv set in his attic. I forget who they claimed to be but they kept trying to get him to do some action which would allow them to travel through the airwaves to his tv set. He puts it off and puts it off until finally he does it and - of course- the aliens turn out to be of the nefarious nature, although I don't recall exactly what happened to him. Although that show I'm pretty sure was shot on videotape (and 1/2 hr) while the first one in question was film(and an hour or 2). Very obscure, I have no idea why I remember this 2 shows from way back when but hopefully someone recalls something. It would be nice to get the full plot- it would be great to watch them again, if only for the camp value. Thanks again.

Wow! That is definitely it. Thanks for the info. Although it certainly makes a case for remembering something in your youth you thought was pretty cool, but actually really bites. I had wanted to see this again but after seeing the reviews and some pics, I think not.

Bigfoot totally knows his stuff...I am so impressed with this one, and the other thread. I can't believe we are the same age, and I missed out on so much....I don't even remember alot of that stuff, and I think I have an ok memory .
Wow....I can't believe how much stuff is floating around out there that we may never see again in our life time, that was really good stuff, and should be being played. It is a total bummer.

Yoda, I like cheesy low budget crap like that. Most of the shows that I liked in the '70s that I thought were just awesome now look horrible and sucky. I still like watching them again anyway. I guess when you are little everything looks cool. I saw once that someone made a short film based on Laser Blast. It wasn't sci-fi...it was about a boy who was always picked on at school to the point that he had no life and was bullied all the time. One day when he was walking home from school there was a gang shooting and someone was killed and dropped an M-16 rifle on the ground. Everyone fled and the boy happens to discover the body and pick up the M-16. He takes it home and hides it. Anyways, the bullying gets worse and worse and the boy snaps and takes the rifle and starts stalking and killing all the bullies one by one and with each kill he becomes more and more menacing and turns into a sadistic cold-blooded serial killer. It ends with the cops surrounding him and they end up having to kill him in a shootout. It's basically the same story without the sci-fi element.
