Alot of people probably think his music was kind of sappy...but I loved him.

I have his greatest hits in my jukebox.

I love:

Everlasting Love
Shadow Dancing
Desire

Here's my 2 favorites

I Just want to be Your Everything:

For so long
You and me been finding each other for so long
And the feeling that I feel for you is more then strong, girl
Take it from me
If you give a little more then you're asking for
Your love will turn the key
Darling mine
I would wait forever for those lips of wine
Build my world around you, darling
This love will shine girl
Watch it and see
If you give a little more then you're asking for
Your love will turn the key
I, I just want to be your everything
Open up the heaven in your heart and let me be
The things you are to me and not some puppet on a string
Oh, if I stay here without you, darling, I will die
I want you laying in the love I have to bring
I'd do anything to be your everything

Darling for so long
You and me been finding each other for so long
And the feeling that I feel for you is more then strong girl
Take it from me
If you give a little more then you're asking for
Your love will turn the key

I, I just want to be your everything
Open up the heaven in your heart and let me be
The things you are to me and not some puppet on a string
Oh, if I stay here without you, darling, I will die
I want you laying in the love I have to bring
I'd do anything to be your everything

and

Don't Throw it All Away (Our Love)
Maybe I don't wanna know the reason why
But lately you don't talk to me
Darling I can't see me in your eyes
I hold you near but you're so far away
And it's losing you I can't believe
To watch you leave and let this feeling die
You alone are the living thing that keeps me alive
And tomorrow if I'm here without your love
You know I can't survive
Only my love can raise you high above it all

Don't throw it all away , our love , our love
Don't throw it all away , our love
Don't throw it all away , our love , our love
Don't throw it all away , our love

(break)

We can take the darkness and make if full of light
But let your love flow back to me
How can you leave and let this feeling die
This happy room will be a lonely place when you are gone
And I won't even have your shoulders for the crying on
No other women's love could be as true , I'm begging you

We changed the world we made it ours to hold
But dreams are made for those who really try
This losing you is real
But I still feel you here inside

I love the Bee Gees more too....Andy of course sounded alot like them. It is sad that he died so young, he could have gone on to do so much more. I liked when the Bee Gees sang some of his songs at different concerts they did, and did a whole Memorial type tribute to Andy where they did a slide show of pictures of Andy.

MAMAMIA I agree with you. I really don't remember much about him other than Shadow Dancing and that he was briefly married to Victoria Principal. I love the Bee Gee's and even love the album that they did in the early 90's that had One and Bodyguard on it.

I dont think he actually married Victoria Principal. They dated and she said "It's me or the drugs" and he chose the drugs. Whenever I hear the line in I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR EVERYTHING where he says "If I stay here without you, Darling, I would die" I always think of Victoria Principal because it's almost prophetic. He said it, they broke up and he did die.

Wow you are right mama, they weren't married. He was married briefly from '76 to '78 and has a daughter named Peta with that woman. I wonder what has ever become of her?

LOL! I was at work the other day listening to our MUSAK, and heard a song that I hadnt heard before, so I wrote down some lyrics and ran home and tossed them into a search engine so I could rip the song. Turns out it was PRE-DISCO Bee Gees singing 'Fanny'. What a great song!

Also, ISIS, I have the Andy Greatest also and WOW! I forgot how much I liked that guy when I was a kid till I heard some of the songs.

Andy Gibb's album when "Shadow Dancing" was popular was my favorite album...but then I went through awhile of forgetting I liked him too, and then the late 90's, when I was searching for music that I liked and couldn't find nothing...that's when I decided to go backwards...and I am still going...cause lately I have been wanting to listen to stuff from the 50's and the 60's now too.

Fanny...is one of my favorite Bee Gee songs too. [Big Grin]

Yep, the Bee Gees were on their way to becoming a classic group even before the disco. If you ever heard the song Words it will blow you away. They kind of had some cool Beatlesque songs too, before and after the disco period. But Saturday Night Fever has always cast such a huge shadow on thei career.
