F.Y.I. MGM is finally putting out the Roller Boogie DVD officially. Widescreen even!! I'm stoked. My VHS copy is getting worn out. August 24 is the arrival date.
Now all I'm waiting for is for Columbia Pictures to get off their a** and release SKATETOWN USA!! Those idiots have NEVER released that movie in any form for home video. That is ridiculous!! There's bootleg copies floating around but the quality is pretty bad.

I bought ROLLERBOOGIE off eBay a few years back and wasnt that "moved" by it. I have been searching for a copy of SKATETOWN USA forever. I love those old nostalgic movies, even if they are cheesy. Blame It On The Boogie....there is a resort in Mexico where they play that song every day. I could never find it so I had to download it off Kazaa. I love that song too.

When will they wake up and smell the money?
Maybe because there's very little (if any) money to be made from them?

Point taken. But bootlegs still sell for a pretty penny on ebay, and there's something a little wrong with that... not that I haven't bought them.

Theres money to be made....we have a little group of cult classic enthusiasts here just dyin to buy old cheesy movies! I'll also own up to buying bootlegs off eBay for way too much money. I bought DAWN PORTAIT OF A TEENAGE RUNAWAY, SARA T PORTAIT OF A TEENAGE ALCOHOLIC (I love those "PORTAIT OF.... movies!) and I even bought a few AFTERSCHOOL SPECIALS. My husband looks at this as money being flushed down the toilet but I dont care....cheesy '70s & '80s movies make my day. I would love to get my hands on "CANT STOP THE MUSIC"(The VILLAGE PEOPLE movie)...I cant find that anywhere: even on eBay.

Well, here's the thing I don't get...is some movies have been released on DVD...but are impossible to find anywhere, so if they went to the expense of making it to DVD in the first place, they must have sold a few of them, cause you can't find them, then make more.
I think they should release all cheesey movies, I feel like, if we liked them, other people will too, they just have never seen them, and since there is nothing to go to see at the movies, then seeing these movies are like as if they are brand new movies.

Got my Roller Boogie DVD. It's sweet. You have a choice of widescreen or full screen. (Widescreen for me!!) and it includes the theatrical trailer which I haven't seen since 1980. That's it for the extras.
It would have been nice to have a commentary track by Linda Blair and Jim Bray and maybe the director, Mark Lester. I'm sure none of them are too hard to find especially Linda (who is still a MEGA BABE!!).
Totally worth the $10.99 I paid for it.
