Hi all, I found a weird IP listed as 10.0-0.0-1 in a blog post about router setup. Is this a valid IP? I tried typing it into my browser and it didn’t work. Confused!

Hi!It looks like the IP address you found, 10.0-0.0-1, isn’t valid due to the hyphens in it. A proper IP address in this range would be something like 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2. The hyphens are likely a typo or formatting issue from the blog post. When entering router IPs, make sure to use the correct format without any special characters. If you're still having trouble, you can check out more details about the correct usage of 10.0-0.0-1Posts: 8 | Registered: Feb 2025 | Site Updates: 0

Totally agree. 10.0-0.0-1 is just a typo or formatting error. Happens a lot in unofficial guides. Always stick with 10.0.0.1 — it’s a legit gateway IP used by Xfinity and Cisco routers.
