I always thought cover letters weren’t that important, so I either sent a generic one or skipped them altogether. But after months of applying for jobs and barely getting any responses, I started to wonder if I was doing something wrong. Then I found this article https://www.businessphrases.net/why-you-should-write-a-cover-letter-83-of-employers-read-you-through-this-letter/ which completely changed my perspective. It turns out that 83% of employers actually take cover letters seriously, using them to gauge whether a candidate is truly interested in the job. Once I started putting more effort into mine—customizing them to match job descriptions and showing enthusiasm for each role—I finally started getting interviews. If you’ve been struggling with job applications, this article is a must-read!

It’s not just about repeating your resume but about showing who you are and why you fit the role. I had a similar experience when working on my residency application. Getting a solid residency personal statement review service made all the difference in helping me structure my thoughts and make a real impact. Whether it’s a job or an academic program, strong writing can open doors you didn’t even realize were closed!
