Reports are that Tom's signed on for a follow-up Jerry Bruckheimer's been working on, although the word is Maverick's role will be smaller this time out. Encouragingly, Tony Scott will apparently also be returning, although of course there's no knowing how the final project will turn out at this stage.

Chris, you've just made at least two Rewinder's very happy with this post...Now let me put a damper on Top Gun II and say that I just don't see it happening any time soon. Maverick has to lead any sequel worth its wings...any of you stuidos see an aircraft carrier around here?

So...Tom's finally resorted to tapping into his old success stories....hmmmm....seems like the beginning of the end for poor Tom......OR......the beginning of his grand comeback. Might just be sitting in a lounge having drinks with Mel Gibson pretty soon.....
