"Mischief" is another one of those funny 80's flicks that reflected back to the 50's with stellar tunes from the past.
Was it wicked foreshadowing or what that the poster on Jonathan's wall in the beginning of "Mischief" stated:
"I can make a new man out of you" ~ Charles Atlas
You have to enjoy seeing that lime green Studebaker that Jonathan wrecks in the beginning too.
"Mischief" reminds me abit of when I was in jr high and this cool older teenager moved in across the street from me. He was the essence of cool similar to Gene Harbrough (Chris Nash) in "Mischief". This is probably my fav performance of Nash though he was great as the quirky crazy guy in "Modern Girls" as well.
Jonathan (Doug McKeon) was like a leftover horny teenager from "Porky's"... overall, a nice guy.. but his obsession with sex was just too much for me to truly like his character until his self revelation late in the movie.. But I actually understand him to a point.. when I was a teenager I was always infatuated with Kelly Preston mainly because of this movie and "Secret Admirer", but now that I'm older it is all about Lori Loughlin and Catherine Mary Stewart who played Bunny in "Mischief" instead.
"I heard bells"
I enjoyed the James Dean references and the fact that the movie "Rebel Without A Cause" is playing at the drive-in along with "Love Me Tender" with Elvis Presley.
Jami Gertz played a great geek that turned out to be a beautiful babe in hiding.
Cool to see Terry O'Quinn as Gene's controlling father prepping for his future roles in "The Stepfather" movies.
Most people will remember "Mischief" for the Kelly Preston nude scene and Doug McKeon hanging from Marilyn's porch with his pants down as her parents make a surprise return home.
I've always enjoyed Marilyn's description of Jonathan:
"What I like about you is that you don't look dangerous.. even though you are."
And of course, I enjoy towards the end of "Mischief" where Gene mentions that he had been working on a horse farm in Kentucky!

I like this one too. Lot's of good lines and funny situations. Really good cast.
Last time I watched it, I enjoyed Jami Gertz's character quite a bit. She's got some good stuff going on in this movie.

I was tempted to comment that you only need three words to describe this movie, "Kelly Preston naked," but it also has Jami Gertz and Catherine Mary Stewart, whom I love too. And why the heck didn't Chris Nash become a star? He's great here.
