Must have been about mid-80's. The only thing I remember is a man(a king), goes to this island populated with females only. He get's bewitched and falls in love with the ruler there(of course). For him, only days have past but outside the island, it's been 7 years already and his people think o him as dead... until 7 years later he returns...
That's all I remember, but that passage of the film is quite accurate.

I'd like to add that it was kind of a fantasy/epic movie ... like clash of titans, jason and argonauts ... that type of movie ... but more recent of course ...

It sounds like 'She'. But it also has some similarities with 'Lost Horizon'. Both of them have been made several times.
