This one really comes to mind for me because it has been on TV so much lately. Rodney Dangerfield and the all-star cast with several of our favorites including Adrienne Barbeau, Keith Gordon, William Zabka, Robert Downey, Jr. and Terry Ferrell can be vaulted away into the classic status of "The Must-See 80's Movies".

Thornton Melon goes back to school and becomes "the world's oldest living freshman" in this comedy about a dad trying to reconnect with his son. Supporting roles by Sally Kellerman and "Pauley" from Rocky movies (sorry I am at a loss of his name right now) help to make this a gem.

It is sad that Sam Kinison didn't have a larger role as the crazy History teacher. It is one of those films that I could watch everytime it is on which to me is a very important quality to have in a film.

What are your fond memories of this film???

Jessie.. what a great Back To The Rewind movie choice!

Rodney Dangerfield was so hilarious in this movie. So many great lines and who hasn't tried to recreate the infamous 'Triple Lindy'?

"Please, try to understand. I don't have the background for this. I mean, the high school I went to, they asked a kid to prove the law of gravity, he threw the teacher out the window!"

And William Zabka as Chas was just an over the top extension of his bad boy roles throughout the 80's.

Love the tune "Dead Man's Party" by Oingo Boingo and the fact they actually performed it in the movie.

I read somewhere that Alice Cooper's 'The Great American Success Story' was supposed to be the theme song from Back to School. But I'm not sure if that has ever been confirmed.

Great song though.

This is one of my favorites...Love when Robert Downey is calling William Zabka something like 'elitist scum,' the close-up of Rodney's face when he's doing the triple lindy, Kurt Vonnegut doing Rodney's essay for him that the teacher thinks is awful, OINGO BOINGO, Rodney breaking into the sorority house ("You're perfect!)...Great movie!! Never seems to get old.

I love Downey's character...."you're like a poster child for birth control" Rodney's silly freaking expressions and eyes, make the movie....I still have Oingo Bongo in my head "Dooooooooon't run away....it's only me" love it!

TKO I don't know if I would have liked Alice Cooper as the theme,Class of 1984 used him and it made the movie seem so much more 70's to me? you know? and I really liked the song they did use.
