I am looking for a name of a movie I once owned on VHS. It's is a 80's teen Ghost/comedy.
Movie plot: An old man gets bitten by a spider while on toilet and he dies. the house he lived in is supposed to by haunted by his spirit and a few high school students have to sleep in it for one night to be enrolled in the fraternity. the lead person begins to investigate the house and he finds out that it is not haunted, and a relative of the old man had plant the spider in the toilet and was trying to scare people away. the movie ends with the lead character owning the house and throwing a party. as he goes to the toilet he sees the ghost of the old man on the toilet and then the movie ends.
I do not know any names of actors in the movie, but the lead character was a boy, I think, thin with short dark curly hair.
I have been thinking about it for a long time and it is driving me crazy

You owned it on VHS? Can you describe the cover? Was it a US movie? Anything you can give would help.

As I remember the cover it was a picture of he main characters with the house in the background. the house was white on 2 or 3 floors.
it was a U.S movie.
two scenes I remember: first a few kids were on the first floor and some other kid scared them of by walking down the stairs with the old man's walker. second scene was when the relative of the old man was warning the kids of coming to the house and then some green lighted force pulled him into a room under the stairs and he disappeared.
hope this will give any clue about the movie.
best regards.

I was thinking about the movie and when I owned it the year was probably 1992 or 1993 because I also owned the movie "Nothing but trouble" (1991) with Chevy Chase and John Candy, so it could be a early 90's movie I am not sure.
Someone has to know this movie, the truth is out there

I'm just glad to help! Did you order a VHS copy from Amazon? I wouldn't hold my breath for a DVD release.
