Wheels of Fire (1985)

Late last night i watched Wheels of Fire, a Mad Max clone directed by Cirio H. Santiago.
Starring Gary Watkins, Laura Banks and super hot Lynda Wiesmeier.

Lynda has a great CV: Joysticks, Private School, Avenging Angel, Real Genius, Teen Wolf etc.
Never a big role though.

This was a fun flick and i can´t believe that i just watched back to back movies
including a vehicle with a flame-thrower!
What are the odds for that [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Here´s a trailer (nudity alert!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvY1e0JNa10

This movie i thought was just ok. It was overshadowed by firstblood 2 which was the same year. Also the madmax movies were hitting the big time about now.

Cirio H. Santiago! Single handedly holding up the film industry of the Phillipines! How many of these post-apocalyptic things did he do? This one, "Stryker," and a bunch more that I can't remember because like the Italian Mad Max clones, they are all the friggin' same--a bunch of folks riding around in junk cars in the desert looking for (a) water, (b) fossil fuel, (c) women, or (d) some piece of highly coveted magic junk. :-) I loved the 80s. :-)

Too funny, but you are right! Yep, revenge...for a dead (a) partner, (b) lover, (c) kid, or (d) dog. :-)

I just found out Lynda Wiesmeier passed away in december 2012 from the effects of brain cancer. She was only 49. [Frown]

I think the news of her death went pretty much unnoticed, but she definitely deserves her spot here on the 80s Rewind.
Like aTomiK said, she only did supporting roles.. but to a teenage boy growing up in the 80s, she sure did make
a lasting impression !

Sad to hear about Wiesmeier. I think that i´m going to watch Joysticks soon.

Final Mission is one of the first vhs films i´ve seen.
I remember loving it but never seen it since. The tape seems to be super rare here.
