Just watched Nighthawks. It is a very good and gritty old school cop thriller. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Billy Dee Williams, Rutger Hauer, Lindsay Wagner and Joe "Maniac" Spinell. You can also spot Catherine Mary Stewart as a salesgirl in the London scene.
Sly looks very cool with a beard and big glasses and i think that the action packed subway scene was superbly done.
This movie was originally planned as The French Connection III, but when Gene Hackman didn´t want to do it they reworked the story into Nighthawks. Recommended!

One of Stallone's better movies and gives you an idea of what might have been had his movies choices gone down another path. Love all the movies he made...allright, maybe not "...my mom will shoot.", but this was from before he was a brand and the roles got kind of cookie cutter (for all their fun-ness...Just watched Cobra today!).
He didn't make another one "like" this until Cop Land...also a terrific movie!

I agree that "Nighthawks" is a good gritty crime drama. Rutger Hauer is excellent as the terrorist on the loose. This movie is memorable to me because of what happened to Billy Dee Williams and the awesome ending!
Interesting tidbit about The French Connection III..
