My goal is for this thread to serve a duel purpose....

1. What are some things you should never do in 80's horror flicks if you want to stay alive?

2. With Halloween only 7 days away, what are the cherished movies you've saved to watch this week?

The countdown has begun for an incredibly haunting Halloween!

Valley my man! Back in action I see! We missed you here my friend.

If you want to stay alive, NEVER:

1. Leave the group to go have sex....
2. Shut and lock the front door, the killer is right behind you....
3. Turn off all the lights to hide from the killer when all the lights are ON everywhere else! A dead giveaway as to your location....

I'll stop there and leave room for others to post some. Great topic and great to have you back for the best time of the year!

* Don't ever get a shower...first place the killer looks...you'll smell and look horrible and will spend your life alone....just buy lots of movies and pay for good cable...

* I'm very soon to dig out every horror movie I own (approx. 100) and sift through to pick my favs. As Halloween gets closer, I like to watch The Crow, Sleepy Hollow, at least one Friday the 13th, Halloween 1 and 2, Monster Squad and Fat Albert's Halloween Special. I own all of the Friday the 13th, Halloween and Nightmare On Elm Street movies...I always envision doing big marathons and watching them all in sequence...I have a three year old...never gonna happen...

Good to see you back Valley!!

-- Never say "I'll be right back"...cause you won't.

Over the next week I'll try and watch the following:

Friday the 13th -- It hasn't been that long since I watched the first 3 on Blu-ray, so I'll probably watch 4,6 & 7 on DVD. I never did like part 5.

Halloween 1 & 2 on DVD

An American Werewolf in London on Blu-ray.

My Bloody Valentine(Original) & The Burning, both on DVD.

I've never heard of 'The Midnight Hour' -- looks like a fun film. Oh, and I also have NOTC on its way to me.

- Don't have sex with people possessed by demons. It never ends well.

- Don't hide from a killer in a closet and then scream like a banshee when a corpse falls on you.

- If you manage to drop the killer with a good shot to the head, don't just assume he's dead, drop your weapon on the floor, turn your back and go take a breather.

- Don't plan parties or holidays at old spooky houses, abandonned turn-of-the-century mental hospitals, or summer camps that were once the site of a series of brutal, unsolved homicides.

- If you and your friends ever had a prank go bad where a strange asocial kid was killed and/or severely mutilated as a result, or you and your friends ever killed someone accidentally and covered it up - don't decide years later to go back for a reunion.

1. Never, ever, ever leave the group to have sex. It just never ends well!!

2. Never say "I'll be right back." No, you won't.

3. Stand still and scream like a flippin' idiot when the killer is right there. Hear that, ladies of horror films?? Run, darn it!!!

As for movies I'm saving, I don't guess I really have any. I'm kinda disappointed that I haven't gotten Happy Birthday to Me on DVD yet. Maybe I'll watch Prom Night. If I could find my copy of Ghost Story I'd watch it, but strangely (or not) I've misplaced it...

1.If you know there is a killer around and you hear a noise fron another room NEVER EVER go check it out.

2.(This one is for the psycho killer) Never sit and explain your plan to the hero it always ends badly.

If all your friends left you alone and you start to hear funny /strange noises dont loudly proclaim "Haha, Guys..That Isnt FUNNY" Its not your friends, its the killer messing with you.

When you "kill" the killer always make damn sure hes really dead. Cut his head off and carry it around with you!

These 80's horror movie survival tips are hilarious everyone!

Tonight's flick:

Waxwork (1988) - great premise with some outstanding make-up effects. Plus Deborah Foreman which doesn't hurt its appeal for me.

* If you're going to build a house, stick with the one story flats...on a cement slab. No basement...no attic...you'll be fine!

pettyfan, the second Waxwork is not anywhere as good as the first, but at least watchable. My Waxwork DVD contained both parts.

The second is alright. A couple of the segments seem to drag a little tho.
