I am not to sure about other stuff but for 80s videos and film posters then try Portabello Rd Market - in the Notting Hill Area, do an online search for other markets like it, there is one on Islington Green and Borough.
If your staying out of down then the Car Boots sales are a good place to look but get there EARLY!!

I live less than an hour away from London; if you did come across any good places let us know always on the look-out for anything 80s related
although remarkable titles seem to be turning up on the internet every day - it's no wonder there are no new wave themed coffee bars left in the world - unless I just haven't found them ?
all the best and hope your visit to London was good despite the constant rain we've been getting lately

I like the rain. We had barely any for the middle of the year. Whenever it rains the world is more quiet. When the sun shines it's unbelievably noisy.
As for shopping: there's nothing in terms of movies/music/memorabilia that can't be bought online. If I were going to London as a tourist I'd go and do touristy things, but shopping isn't one of them. Although I guess you can try on clothes, which you can't do online.
