On the 5th of September, there will be a John Hughes Tribute night in London where they will be playing the Breakfast Club and afterwards you can dance to 80's tunes all night.
PS: there is also a MJ Birthday Tribute on the 29th of August.

I am so disappointed that he did not get more coverage here in the UK of his death. As far as I am concerned, he is a legend. Think of all the films we wouldn't have seen if he'd decided to become a dentist or something. I thought they might play some of his movies on the TV as a tribute to him, but absolutely nothing. What a shame. RIP.

That sounds fantastic, would love to attend that. Will have to sniff around to see if there are those tribute nights in North America. Chicago would at least be prime territory.

The New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles is also hosting a tribute to John Hughes:

September 4 & 5 Ferris Bueller's Day Off & Planes, Trains & Automobiles (BRAND NEW 35mm print!)
Special in person guests for Ferris Bueller's include actor Jeffrey Jones, actresses Edie McClurg & Cindy Pickett, producer Tom Jacobson & editor Paul Hirsch. Hopefully other special guests will be announced soon.
