I'm looking for more movies along the lines of the teen/young adult action/mystery genre movies. Doesn't have to be 80s, but some really fun ones were done in the 80s and 90s, such as:

Run
Moving Target
Out Of Bounds
Fast Getaway
Dream Machine
Tuff Turf
The New Kids
Gotcha
Career Opportunities
Breaking All The Rules

Basically, anything where the protaganist(s) end up in some sort of trouble, being chased by criminals, gang members, government agents, spies, whatever. Any additions to this list?

I'm looking primarily for serious drama, but comedy is ok too. I'm really after a particular movie that I have only the slightest recollection of - no idea who was in it or what the plot really was - just a few vague images that include the main character starting off on a road trip at the beginning of the film, driving across a big bridge. Nothing more specific than that, but any hints or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Both nifty suggestions, but not the one I was thinking of. Keep adding to the list!

Brick
Cloak & Dagger (maybe pre-teen, but still good)

Great lists, but still not what I'm looking for. Nothing supernatural (werewolves or vampires or zombies) and nothing with war or futuristic. Those are great movies, but I'm looking for a movie that was contemporary and mundane. Mainly a chase movie. But no, not The Chase with Charlie Sheen.

This will be something lower profile, less well known (even to 80s movie buffs) than these that have been listed.

Brick is definitely good, but much too recent. This was probably late '80s-early '90s. To be honest, I may be conflating vague images of one movie with a sense that it was something else altogether. But please keep trying, as I'm building my collection even more now.

Thanks!

Excellent list, Journey! Mostly familiar, but a few outliers there that I'm not sure I ever saw. I'll look into those. I don't think that any of them are what I'm looking for though.

As I've said, I don't even know for sure that I'm not completely daft in my memory of this supposed movie.

Thanks for playing and keep 'em coming!

Thanks jdocster. What I'm remembering isn't really a "road" or "road trip" movie. Just that one of the images I recall from it had the main character leaving home on a cross country trip and at one point there was a wide shot of his car (possibly heavily loaded with stuff) crossing a bridge on the way out of a big city. May have been part of a montage showing the journey, but the trip itself wasn't the main part of the movie.

Thanks again, and keep feeding me. I appreciate it.

Soul Man has a 'driving to college' scene. And Three for the Road is a big road trip movie with Charlie Sheen, Alan Ruck and Kerri Green.
