This should answer your question on the BEST 80's site fast-rewind.com. My name is KING 80'S! REGION 1 -- USA, Canada. REGION 2 -- Middle East, Greenland, Europe, including France, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Arabia, Japan and South Africa. REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Borneo, Indonesia. REGION 4 -- The Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, South America (including Mexico). REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa REGION 6 -- China. REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use. REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc... REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit unless you have a multi-regional DVD player like I do - just ask me & I will tell you where you may buy 1 ! It really is worth the cash. I never have to worry about playing dvds or buying dvds that don't play. It happened to me once-I bought an Australian Region 4 dvd set - 4 dvds and when I tried to play them- no go, no show until now. So get yourself a multi-regional dvd player today and never worry again! Play any dvd from anywhere in the world anytime!!!

I don't know how anybody lives without a region free dvd player I've bought so many dvds from America that are not available here yet. The players are dead cheap here too, mine was only £30

I'd be lost without my region free players, particularly as I buy most of my DVD's from the American Military bases around me.

Also, there is lots of software out there that will change NTSC to PAL and back and make region free DVDs as well...

I peronally use DVD Fab 5 which allows me to make region free copies of any movie so my son can watch them on his portable DVD player.
