Did you say "PCU"? Ha...okay I've seen "How I Got Into College" .....I mean didn't every guy in high school choose a college based on his dreamgirl's choice?
I really liked Corey Parker in this movie and I'm surprised he didn't get any bigger movies. A little trivia...he used to be best friends with Patrick Dempsey in the 80's.

Lara Flynn Boyle is one of my favourite actresses, I think her whole semi-stoned, smokes-just-one-too-many-cigarettes-a-day delivery is great. Not seen this movie though, worth watching?

i think it's odd how everytime i had seen this movie as a kid, it was from waking up in the middle of the night to it on cable.
when i was little, i didn't know the name of this movie but i remembered the song, LOVE CHANGES EVERYTHING played at end. i can't remember who sings that song, but.. love it.
i think i have this on vhs somewhere. it would be good to see it again, soon. it's been years.

I haven't seen this movie in a long time..I have seen it enough though to know that I don't consider it to be one of my favorites..from what I remember it's good for a little chuckle..but definetly not the funniest among other 80's comedies. Anthony Edwards has a pretty good role in it though if I remember right.

I agree Valley. What happened to Corey Parker? He should have been bigger. My fav was Biloxi Blues (1988) .... Arnold B. Epstein... Funny as hell...

Patrick Dempsey married or was engaged to Corey Parker's mom back in the 80's so they were very close. I actually like this movie a lot but it's not one you can watch over and over. A few years between viewings would be good.
I just checked Wikipedia and found this: Dempsey has been married twice. In 1987, he married actress and acting coach Rocky Parker, who appeared with Dempsey in the film In the Mood. At the time of their marriage, Dempsey was 21 years old, while Parker was 48, with a son, Corey Parker, who was one year Dempsey's senior. The couple divorced in 1994.

This is up there as one of my favorites!! I love Savage Steve Holland movies. I thought Corey Parker and Anthony Edwards were great.......the scene that flashes to me......when Laura Flynn has her college interview and totally freaks out about being too much like everyone else haha

I bought and watched How I Got Into College few months back. It was pretty good but nowhere near Better Off Dead greatness. I think that´s because Savage Steve didn´t write the script and only came to direct because the original director was sacked. The movie has a nice fresh angle dealing with the things what teens will do after high school and also shows us what university recruits do.
Corey Parker was ok but i didn´t think he quite had the charisma needed. Lara Flynn Boyle is good in her second film and Anthony Edwards always delievers. Lots and lots of familiar faces in this one.
I liked the two montage scenes and the Jason Scheff tune "Young" is aor gold.

i saw this for the first time about 8 or so months back,i saw a cheap us region 1 copy on amazon so snapped it up along with another college comedy p.c.u (1994) starring jeremy piven.
i agree it's not on the same level as better off dead but i don't think i was really expecting it to be,i did enjoy it though and it did give me enough good laughs thoughout to come away from it well entertained.
really good cast, anthony edwards i've always liked from - revenge of the nerds(1984) and the underated - gotcha(1985),lara flynn boyle i've also been a fan of from her appearance in the excellent 1994 comedy drama - threesome.
i only paid about 2-3 uk pounds for a brand new region 1 dvd copy and for that small price i felt like i got a bit of a bargain.
p.c.u was good fun as well atomik if you've never seen it.
