Anyone have this? It's an early 80's slasher with Hal Holbruk the only actor of note. I ordered it yesterday as I seem to be getting a lot of 80's horror movies the past few months? Is it good?

Rent it, buy it, steal it, a masterpiece. Actually I was just kidding, haven't even seen it yet. The x-mas vacation I am going to play catchup to watching some movies.

This movie had decent surprises, but what It remember most was the trailer with a girl in her lingerie enticing you to watch it. Come to think of it, I'm not even sure she was actually in the movie.

The day after a huge party a scavenger hunt is held. Every college student in town is out for the grand prize. One-by-one they are all dispatched by a killer in a dancing bear costume..
Not the best 80's slasher, but how can you resist a dancing bear? Actually it was the school's mascot, but dancing bear sounds so much better..
Riptide?

Just watched Girls Nite Out aka The Scaremaker (1982).
It was a decent slasher. I liked most of the characters, some funny and energetic performances. I loved the ending, excellent and scary last minute.
It was nice to see Julie Montgomery (Up the Creek, Revenge of the Nerds, Stewardess School) in her first feature film.
The killer looked funny and scary at the same time, wearing the basketball team mascot bear suit. I liked the way the killer used knives as "bear claws", pretty wicked weapon.
You can see some skin but sadly no t&a which these kind of films so desperately need
Lots of oldies on the soundtrack, partying, drinking and pot smoking. Not a must see but good fun for old school slasher movie fans.
I own this UK VHS tape:

Girls Nite Out was released on region 1 dvd in 2005 through Media Blaster's Guilty Pleasures label.
The disc features a widescreen transfer and an interview with actress Julia Montgomery plus the trailer as extra's.
It was released in Guilty Pleasures' 'Slasher Collection'. To my knowledge, Girls Nite Out was the only release in this so-called Slasher Collection.
