I think this is an awesome thriller. I always think that it should be a 90's movie, but it is dated 1989. I can watch it anytime it is on TV. I should buy it on DVD. I think Ellen Barkin is really good in this movie, but I have never really liked her in anything else.

I love it as well. Can't go wrong with a Pacino flick.

Bought this recently for a bargain 2 british pounds (approx $4). Well chuffed as I remember going to see it at the cinema and never seeing it again since. I think seeing Pacino and Barkin in Ocean's 13 reminded me of how great they once were together and encouraged me to get off my **** and find a copy. Glad I did too...

Sea of Love is great. I love the mood of films like this.....it's mostly shot at night, giving the film a dark and atmospheric feeling which of course only adds to the film's mysterious plot. I remember catching this flick for the first time at about 3:00am or something, and I think the "late night" vibe I was feeling at the time made the movie even more enjoyable. The city at night, I love it. Only other movies with this sort of vibe that come to mind are RISKY BUSINESS and TAXI DRIVER. And maybe THEIF? Michael Mann tends to give off a similar type of vibe in his films.

Don't forget After Hours, Into the Night, Manhunter, The Warriors and The Terminator too. All classic late night movies.
And, yeah, Sea of Love is a personal favorite of mine as well. I loved it the very first time I saw it, and like it even more now. Al Pacino in his underwear is a sight I could have lived without seeing, however.
