What a classic cult movie that is. I love it!!! The effects are brillant and the acting is fantatic. A horrid slimy monster that imitates, ewwww, just imagine if such a thing was real. The chaos that would cause to humanity.
They don't make sci-fi's like that anymore I will say!!! Anyone else agree/disagree???

The Thing scares the heck out of me...I have it on VHS...but I can't watch it because of the way the effects are with the dog...and then with the guy and his head hanging there...gross.
There are clips of it in "Terror in the Aisles"- that is one of my favorite movies...it was the movie I went on my first date to see.

I can't belive it sacres you ISIS. What bothers you about the dog bit? Is it because you have dogs or a dog. I have a dog and I suppose I don't like the thought of any harm being brought upon him.
I think the effects are really good tho. and John Caprpeneter is fantastic at making movies.

I actually like the original "The Thing from Another World" with Marshal Matt Dillon from "Gunsmoke" fame as The Thing, but I'm a huge Kurt Russell fan as well and this was an honorable remake.
