This is an 80's movie that was set in the 60's. Donovan Leitch was actually quite impressive in this flick. Drum roll please...a little trivia...he is the brother of Say Anything's Ione Skye.
I think I would have liked "The In Crowd" more in the 80's, but I was too consumed with the 'hot chick' over 'the girl next door' back then. Of course this recent change in tude, might have something to do with the fact that 'the girl next door' now lives in the Playboy mansion ...ok I'm off topic. Anyway, I enjoyed Wendy Gazelle's performance...not as much as "Hot Pursuit", but very cool indeed. The emotions she showed at the end of the dinner scene with Vicky felt real to me.
My favorite part is when Perry Parker has Vicky and Del do a publicity stunt for the show and all these teens are lined up to dance with them...and Del spots the shy girl in the crowd and walks over to her and asks her to dance. Great stuff.
Did anyone else enjoy this movie?

Devo, the beginning with "Sweet Soul Music" definitely sucked me in. The dancing and lip syncing in front of the tv to "Do You Love Me" was stylish and he totally did what I would have done if I suddenly realized someone was watching me dance like a fool.
jdoc, this is a movie that I didn't fully appreciate the first time I watched it.

yes! i love sweet soul music!
i also like the bob dylan tune at the end - like a rolling stone
i had a thing for donovan leitch (sp) after seeing this movie. well.. this one and cutting class (cheesy, i know)
about the girl who played the 'annoying, jealous friend'..her character bugged me a little..the only other thing i ever saw her in, was 'the net' with sandra bullock.
i have the vhs tape, which i have been meaning to watch. i ordered it brand new and still haven't opened it. time to watch it!

Isis, this is a movie that you appreciate the more times that you watch it. I enjoyed it on my first viewing, however it really didn't resonate with me until I watched it again years later.

Do you mean by the time I am 50 I might appreciate it? Maybe I can skip the wait...since I would be watching it already older?
