Hey guys! I've been wanting to post about this for awhile but have been tied up with work and life stuff. Anyways, I went to a Chiller Theatre convention earlier this month and had the opportunity to meet Meredith, Cynthia and Ami. It was awesome .
I will start by saying Cynthia was cool & still very pretty. I asked her to sign the cover of my Modern Girls VHS. She wasn't even believing it when I whipped it out, she was like "Oh my God, wow!" We were both laughing and I told her I was obsessed with this movie and it's soundtrack! She said "you are really?" I said yeah, I watch it all the time, I don't know why, it makes me feel like I'm out clubbin'. She laughed when I said that. She told me she had alot of fun making the movie because Virginia and Daphne were great girls and they did all night shoots between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. and were wired. She also said Clayton was really cool to work.
Next I'll tell you about Ami. She was nice but I totally got the "California Girl/my Dad was one of The Monkees" vibe from her. She looks the same. Her hair was short but the thing that jumped out at me were her eyes. I don't know if she had contacts in but they were such a pretty aquamarine blue color. She signed my "She's Out of Control" dvd. I told her I've seen most of her films, even Life 101 with Corey Haim and she laughed and said "oh God, no way!" I asked her what it was like to work with Corey and she said he was alot of fun and that she's really glad he's doing better now.
Finally, I got to talk to Meredith Salenger and all I can say is she was awesome !!! Love this girl!! She is gorgeous and has not changed AT ALL! I asked her if she would sign my Dream A Little Dream and A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon dvd's and she said "ooh, you brought all the good stuff." I told her I was a big fan, that I grew up watching her films and thought she was cool since we were around the same age. I asked her if I could get a picture with her and she was so great about it! We actually got to talk for a few more minutes and it was like talking to a girl I would have gone to college or worked with. She was totally down to earth, very bright and sooo sweet! She even complimented me on my perfume ! It was such a fun and interesting day! I loved it!!
Here's a pic of us...She rocks!!
Well, I hope you guys enjoyed my story ! I had a blast!!

WOW! What a great post, and hot picture too
This has to be one of the most interesting, entertaining, and just plain great things I've read lately. I loved reading the reactions you got when you pulled out those classic movies!
Sounds like you had a fantastic time -- and right about now I'm sooo jealous of your autographed Modern Girls tape
Perhaps one day I'll have one too, but not tonight..
Thanks for sharing!!

I totally couldn't resist slipping that in there!
Such an underrated movie, and it has an absolutely fantastic soundtrack. When Depeche Mode starts playing at the end... it's just so perfect - I can't imagine the movie ending any other way..

I took that picture of the two of them-they both are cuties.....we had a blast at Chiller Theatre.
One of the cool things to me...was when we got there...we were all in the bathroom...and this cute blonde haired woman was standing next to us by the mirror...and I handed her a paper towel, and she had a tag on...and I asked her if she was a "guest", she said yes...I asked her name, and she said Donna Dolenz...she was Mickie Dolenz's wife, and Ami's step mother...so that was pretty cool...she was really nice.
I missed seeing Cindymancini meet Cynthia Gibb....because I was taking a picture of our other friend who was with us- she wanted to meet Mick Foley.
That whole scene was crazy...there were so many people there. I posted on the 70's site about getting to meet Lindsay Wagner, Lou Ferrigno and Kathy Coleman.
We had a great weekend...we went to a casino that night too...after Chiller...and that was the first time I had ever been to one...we won $45 on a nickel slot machine...so we had a blast.
We watched 80's movies all weekend...it doesn't get better than that.
Cindymancini-you forgot to mention meeting Jason Mewes....unless he doesn't fit the 80's stuff....but the other person we saw there was "Alan Ruck" from Ferris Bueller.
There were tons of people there....Elvira was there...so was Katey Sagal (we went past her going in to the "Pit" area)
It was fun...I would definately do it again....
Cindymancini and I went last fall to the real Crystal Lake from Friday the 13th, and we went to all the locations that the movie was filmed at...and we have gotten to know Adrienne King...she called us on the phone that night at cindymancini's house...it was totally cool- if Adrienne comes to Chiller we definately need to go so we can hang out with her. She wanted to go this time, but she she had to be in New York.

Nice...Now you just need Madsen and Zuniga to sign as well. That would be awesome.
