Well, I may hate myself later for saying this, but the trailer looks decent. This is a direct to DVD release, correct? And when is the release date?

I'm with ya pettyfan... Come on folks, it doesn't look that bad. Does anyone know if it's going directly to DVD?

Hi, I'm new to posting but not to the site. Big 2 Coreys fan here. I'm also an unashamed lover of Dirty Dancing. Yes I am a 33 year old man and my wife hates the movie.
Anyway, just wanted to point out that the Feldog looks EXACTLY the same as he did in the original. How is that possible? I like it because it looks like an old school no frills DTV like we got in the 90's. You know, it is what it is. And though I would have loved a big budget sequel featuring the 2 Coreys and Jamison Newlander, that was just never going to happen. So this looks fine by me. They play the song, they make Feldman look the same, they try to hit the right notes for the fans. Power to them.

You know you really can't re-create magic that happens....Lost Boys was one of those 80's movies that just worked. I dont mind trying to glean some of that success, but you don't bring back the out-of-work ex child star and try to pull together a sequil...unless its by MTV and your target audience is 14 to 20.
Lost Boys had actual actors....and not just 20 year old pretty ones either, the Corey's...the BratPackers, and the established actors. Now this could have been disastrous, but it wasn't..everyone did their part. The kids were suitably comical, the 20-somethings were suitably moody and stylish, and the older folks were suitably befuddled or stalwart.
BUt mostly it was a good movie..David was slowly turned, the vampires slowly revealed themselves to him, it made for an interesting movie. It wasn't just one big rush to a vampire killing scene.
Having viewed the trailer: Do I need to see a vampire slow-motion skateboard jumping? Did I miss the scene where they were skydiving or snowboarding or Mountainbiking? The extreme motorcycle stunts made my skin crawl....predictable? Oh yes.
There Will Be Rubbish

I'm surprised how they managed to make Feldman look like he did back then considering he looks so different now.

His head got bigger. Or maybe it just seems that way? I dunno. I am the one that wanted to marry him when I was 4!

I saw the Lost Boys at the theater when it came out. I talked all my friends in to going to a matinee with me....and we loved it.
I had seen the trailor for it before, and I have to agree with the "rubbish" comment.
I loved Jason Patric and Corey Haim, but I liked Diane Weist character too, and I loved "Grandpa"...it was such a cool movie.
I love the scene at the dinner table when they were trying to figure out if Max was the head vampire, and they fed him garlic...and I love all the taxidermy stuff that "Grandpa" kept sticking in Corey Haim's room....they can't recreate it.
I saw the one actor's name in the new one is Angus Sunderland....is he related to Keifer?
This new movie looks awful. I have no desire to watch it. I'd rather watch the original. I have always said...instead of remaking junk...they should rerelease the original to the movies for a new generation of kids to see it on the big screen.

This is the thread that was up awhile ago Ali before yours.
We've been discussing the subject for awhile.........honest I'll watch it if I see it, but i'm not gonna hunt it down.......I usually figure if it went straight to DVD, it's not a classic?
Anyone know any movies they loved that were straight to DVD and skipped a theatrical release??

It is sad that any movie goes straight to DVD when the same movies have been in the theaters for 2 months.

The Stoned Age - 1994. "B" movie set in the late 70's about 2 teen "rockers" out looking to party and get "fine chicks." Pretty funny movie. The soundtrack alone is worth giving it a look. Check it out:

Just finished watching Lost Boys: The Tribe...it was OK...some good memories c/o references from the first movie...but definitely didn't deserve a theatrical release......although I probably would have gone to see it anyway. Anyone else see it?

Although not as good as the original, it still wasn't half bad. I would have went and saw it at theaters had it been released...........
