I saw it on TV as a teenager and was very disappointed in it. Then my sister asked me to buy it off eBay a few years ago and we watched it and- it was even worse than I had remembered. It DOES have a good soundtreack though!

The film wasn't much more than a marketing tool to sell the soundtrack. It was Robert 'Saturday Night Fever' Stigwood trying to sell a million records again - didn't work though.

is it any good???
As the previous posters have already said, the soundtrack is great!
Unfortunately, the movie itself is only so-so. However, it does show a brief, but interesting look at the rock music club scene in New York City during 1980, just one year before MTV made its debut.
The only thing that suprises me about the movie, is that the two lead actresses (Robin Johnson and Trini Alvarado) did not have a bigger career than they should have, IMHO.

Oh- yeah, especially Robin Johnson - who had a nice Suzi Quatro/ Joan Jett quality about her. I've seen Trini Alvarado in a few things but I have never seen Robin Johnson in anything but THIS!)

thanks for the info people!
In my opinion, it is worth renting, if you can find a copy. But it's not worth ordering and buying.
