I was going to be a smartass and say that my favorite 80s dance movie was "The Turning Point" (Shirley MacLaine, Anne Bancroft, Mikhail Baryshnikov) - but then I looked it up on IMDB and saw that it was from 1977! So close...

Well, if you want to include ballet as dancing for an 80's movie, try "Nijinsky" (1980). It's about the real-life story of the Russian ballet dancer Nijinsky and his mentor (and lover) Diaghilev.
