To me Michael Douglas was one of the most consistant actors of the 80s, with films like Star Chamber, the Romancing The Stone films,Fatal Attraction, War Of The Roses, Wall Street and Black Rain. I haven't really enjoyed his movies since Falling Down. What's your guys favourite? I'm pretty sure what Rewinder Gordon Gekko's is. I even prefer him to his father Kirk, but I like Tough Guys a lot. I think Black Rain's my favourite, very atmospheric and cool music from the Allman Brothers. It's pretty much a buddy cop movie, but probably has more of an edge than others- Andy Garcia's character gets murdered 3/4 into the film. I really like Ridley Scott's films from the 80s especially Blade Runner and Legend, but was dissappointed with Someone To Watch Over Me. "It's all about bucks kid the rest is conversation".

Did anyone else notice Gordon Gekko's grammatical error in the board room when he says "we will draft that up" instead of "draw that up"; the former is incorrect in legal lingo . . .

Is it me or does this movie always seem to be one of the first to be released on a new format post VHS, i.e. VCD, LASER DISC, DVD, HD & BLUERAY!
MM
Hi Mire Mare. It was on Sky last sunday morning. Definitely a movie that should be seen on dvd. Being a Ridley Scott film it's very stylish visually. It also breaks one of the traditional film rules, when his partner Charlie is murdered. I really like the song (both versions) I'll Be Holding On along with the score by Hans Zimmer.

Yeah, and hasn't it had some lousy transfers on those formats? I haven't seen any of the latest releases, but I hope they redress the balance

Gotta be Wall Street!!! It pretty much summed up the entire attitude of the 80's, the 'it's all about me' decade...
