Hello one, and all, I am new here (how do you do), but wish to divert your attention to a movie for a moment, if you will.
My favourite movie, is not on here (to my disappointment, albeit this site is one of the best for a movie I have ever seen, especially for my favourite era of movie-making of all time). It's a real cult gem, I HIGHLY (and cannot emphasise the wording of 'highly' anymore so) recommend this movie. Mickey Rourke, Robert De Niro, Lisa Bonet, Charlotte Rampling. Got to take my hat off to them, they revel themselves into their respective roles. And the director, Alan Parker has never been better, in my eyes.
My favourite ending to a film as well, I might add, as the triple twisted ending; surprises and/or pleases to an effect that makes the viewer want to watch again. Everytime I watch this movie, I foind something new each every time to bring it to its conclusion, it all forebodes heavily, throughout, I love those movies and never has it been better constructed, than it has, in this movie. It is best not to give a synopsis of events for this movie, since it is one of those you are better off not knowing anything about before viewing. I will say that it is a mystery thriller though, so those who do not like this (often criminally untouched) genre normally, then stay away from it, or who knows, you may just get lucky and choose to watch it and really enjoy the movie for what it is.
So in closing, I hope you try and watch this movie, and hope that when you do, you share the same sentiments as I do. Thank you.

Hi, Henry. I really like this movie too, especially Mickey Rourke. I'm not usually a fan (except for Harley Davison And the Marlboro Man) but I really liked him in this one and the films cool also. Very intelligent storyline and a great performance from Robert DeNiro(best actor ever in my opinion)as Loius Cypher. The final scenes are very moving especially Mickey's "I KNOW WHO I AM!" and his descent in the elevator at the end. Heartbreaking almost.

I've never seen a more chilling ending to a film, and done so effectively as well. Do you have any recommendations for me regarding similar films, perhaps? Thanks.
(Seen Jacob's Ladder as well, that was amazing as well)

I can't think of any at the moment, but I'll tell if I do.

Hi again. I just thought of one, At Close Range, there's agreat showdown between Christopher Walken and Sean Penn. It's a film I have alot of affection for, and to me Christopher Walken's performance is his best. Maybe Sean Penn's also. I'm not usually a Madonna fan, but her song Live To Tell and the score, especially on the opening credits creates a great atmosphere. I'll always remember after Sean Penn's character Brad gets shot along with his girlfriend, and emerging from his car afterwards as on of the most powerful images in film.
