It is on Nickelodeon....It was just on the other night too, and I watched it.
I love when Cameron calls up and pretends to be Simone's Dad...and Ferris calls in on the other line....
Rooney is running down the hall...and then he stops...and walks past the doors to all the class rooms, then he runs...stops and walks...that is hilarious...I can remember doing that in school too....
I love the Ferrari....
I love when Cameron says...My Dad never drives it, he just rubs it with a diaper.

the last time I saw it, it really ****ed me off the first time I saw it I was 6 and thought I'd end up like Ferris, however, by the time I was in my teens my family was in a financial crisis, so when I watched it again a year a go, he rally ****ed me off - I saw him as an upper middle class kid who's future is so secure he can act totally reckless, like, he's going to college anyway, he's got the money to have all the fun he wants
somehow I felt that One Crazy Summer gave a better message with more heart

I always thought Ferris was a total brat...but I still thought parts of the movie were funny...but actually some of it is really depressing and sad...how Cameron's Dad pays no attention to him, and he is semi suicidal...those parts actually always bothered me, and Ferris was always dismissing it as if it wasn't serious.
But...it is a movie that covers alot of territory...even his relationship with his sister was bizarre.

Look at the bright side, at least Cameron would have been rid of him anyway in about 4 months and had no need to go back. Plus, dear Mr. Frye would have been forced to pay his son's college tuition whether he liked it or not, especially if Mrs. Frye refused to pay it just to leave him in the financial lurch. Nevertheless, why Ferris never seems to have interceded for his friend's benefit in his home life before does seem a bit strange to me, since whatever he would have tried would clearly have succeeded no questions asked.
This is one reason I like visiting the town of Shermer often; Hughes knows how to effectively fill its occupants' lives with both humor and pathos that is more like real life than other executives would like you to believe with their own creations. They can give you comfort in your own despair that even though darkness and depression does exist even in their sunny world (indeed I don't want to know what Rooney's parents could have possibly done to him, but from all appearances it wasn't pretty), there can always be hope for a brighter tomorrow. That almost all of them are more less financially well off is often beside the point. What matters more is that at the end of the day, they all find their more wealthier in areas that count more, and that sharing that type of wealth makes them stronger themselves.

well, I was in a bad mood the last time I saw ferris, I'll give it another shot, don't worry
I saw the breakfast club the other day, heaven't seen it in ages - I thought it could dissapoint me maybe, but it didn't, I still thought it was great

Ferris was a total brat but you could not help but love him. He looked so innocent at times. They could not have cast anyone better to play that part that is for sure!

Candymanfan, I agree with everything you have to say, except for the part about paying for college. No one HAS to pay for a kid's college tuition. They could both back out and say they were not going to pay for Cameron's tuition, and there's really nothing he can do about it. When you turn 18, you're on your own unless the parents decide to help out.
